Revisiting the olap interaction to cope with spatial data and spatial data analysis.. In: ICEIS, pp. 157–163, 2007.
Abstract
In this paper we propose a new interface for spatial OLAP systems. Spatial data deals with data related to space and have a complex and specific nature bringing challenges to OLAP environments. We propose a new spatial OLAP environment compounded with the following elements: a map, a support table and a detail table. Those areas have synchronized granularity. We also extend OLAP operation to performed spatial analysis, for instance, spatial drill-down, spatial drill-up and spatial slice.
